Gas Pipeline O&M Management System
Business System
A web system for managing information and issue reporting around the operation and maintenance of a gas operator's pipelines. It supports maintenance, issue reporting, evidence upload, and notifications to related companies — moving a previously paper-based workflow onto the web.
01
Background & Challenges
- Pipeline maintenance and issue reporting were paper-based, which was laborious with slow information sharing.
- Inspection/maintenance records and evidence were scattered, making notifications and coordination with related companies time-consuming.
- Daily statistics and reports were aggregated manually, making the situation hard to visualize.
02
Goal
Move paper-based pipeline maintenance and operations onto the web, centrally managing inspection, issue reporting, notification, and statistics to improve accuracy and efficiency.
03
Solution
- Web-enable the client's existing (paper) business flow, centrally managing inspection, maintenance, and issue reporting.
- Implement a create–request–approve workflow for reports, with evidence upload.
- Provide periodic-maintenance scheduling and notifications to related companies.
- Auto-aggregate daily statistics and reports, visualized on a dashboard.
- Operate on a stable Ruby on Rails + Vue.js (2+3) stack.
04
Development Features
- Statistics dashboard.
- Create–request–approve report workflow.
- Create, schedule, operate, and report maintenance statistics/reports (paper-to-web per the client's business flow).

05
Results
- Web-enabled paper-based maintenance/operations, eliminating effort and slow information sharing.
